Project
Singaon Mahila Udyog Samuh was established in the year 2020 by Mr. Rajanand Gawai with a mission to empower women from the Singaon town through economic opportunities. This initiative focuses on the production of washing powder, a widely used household product. The workforce primarily consists of a dedicated group of women from Singaon, who are trained and employed within the organization.
Meeting
In Singaon Mahila Udyog Samuh, regular meetings are held to determine the starting of any production batch. During these meetings, key decisions are made regarding the quantity of washing powder to be produced in the upcoming batch. Factors such as market demand, raw material availability, and production capacity are taken into consideration to determine the optimal batch size. Additionally, the meeting discussions involve setting the working timeline for the production batch, outlining the specific tasks and responsibilities assigned to the women workers from Singaon. Each job deadline is carefully defined and communicated during these meetings to ensure clarity and accountability among the workforce. This collaborative approach allows the organization to efficiently plan and execute production cycles, meeting both business objectives and customer demands effectively.
Manufacturing
The production of washing powder involves a meticulous process that begins with the procurement of raw materials sourced from reliable suppliers. Key ingredients like surfactants, builders, fillers, and additives are carefully selected to ensure quality and effectiveness in the final product. The manufacturing process includes batch mixing, dry blending, and spray drying to transform the raw materials into a fine powder form. Additional steps such as liquid addition, cooling, and sieving are conducted to achieve the desired texture and quality of the washing powder.
Packaging
Once the production phase is complete, the focus shifts to packaging the washing powder. Singaon Mahila Udyog Samuh utilizes high-quality packaging materials such as laminated pouches or containers to preserve the freshness and efficacy of the product. The packaging process involves filling, sealing, and coding each unit with manufacturing details and batch numbers. Throughout these operations, stringent quality checks are implemented to uphold standards and ensure customer satisfaction. This enterprise not only contributes to the local economy but also promotes women’s empowerment and community development in Singaon through sustainable business practices.
Washing Powder Manufacturing Process:
Raw Material Procurement:
- Singaon Mahila Udyog procures raw materials required for washing powder manufacturing such as surfactants, builders, fillers, and additives. Common ingredients include sodium sulfate, sodium carbonate, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate, and various enzymes.
Batch Mixing:
- The raw materials are carefully weighed and mixed in specific proportions to create the washing powder formulation. This step ensures uniform distribution of ingredients.
Dry Mixing and Blending:
- The mixed powders are subjected to dry mixing and blending. This process integrates all components thoroughly to achieve a homogeneous mixture.
Liquid Addition:
- Depending on the formulation, liquids such as perfumes or optical brighteners may be added. This is done gradually and carefully to prevent clumping.
Spray Drying:
- The prepared mixture is spray dried to form fine granules. This involves atomizing the liquid mixture into a hot drying chamber where it quickly dries into powder form.
Cooling and Sieving:
- The dried powder is cooled and then passed through sieves to remove any oversized particles and ensure uniform particle size.
Packaging:
- The finished washing powder is now ready for packaging.
Packaging of Washing Powder:
Packaging Materials:
- Singaon Mahila Udyog uses high-quality packaging materials such as laminated pouches, boxes, or plastic containers to ensure the product remains protected from moisture and environmental factors.
Filling and Sealing:
- The washing powder is filled into the selected packaging format using automated filling machines. Care is taken to ensure accurate filling weights.
Sealing and Coding:
- The filled packages are sealed using heat sealing machines or other appropriate methods to maintain product freshness and integrity. Each package is coded with manufacturing details and batch numbers.
Quality Checks:
- Regular quality checks are conducted during the packaging process to ensure that each packaged unit meets quality standards.
Final Inspection and Shipment:
- After packaging, a final inspection is carried out to verify packaging integrity and appearance. Once approved, the packaged washing powder is ready for shipment to distributors or retailers.
Environmental Considerations:
Singaon Mahila Udyog recognizes the importance of sustainable manufacturing practices. Efforts are made to minimize waste generation, optimize energy usage, and explore eco-friendly packaging options.
